Eyal Hofmekler was born in Tel Aviv in 1957 to a family of musicians – both his parents
were cellists.
Eyal studied with maestro Renato Scrollavezza in the Conseratorio Di Musica
Arrigo Boito in Parma from 1981 until 1986, when he got his diploma. He stayed
in Parma until 1987 practicing bow restoration and making guitars.
Eyal lives and works in Jerusalem. He is a member of the British Violin
Society, The Violin Society of America and the Associazione Liuteria Parmense.
In the studio the musician can find a large variety of instruments: Violins,
violas, celli and double bases, both modern and old in all sizes.
In the studio one can find accessories from leading firms: Cases (hard and
soft) by Accord, Bam, Gewa and Riboni (Eyal is the sole agent for Accord carbon
cases and Riboni cases in Israel), strings by Pirastro, Larsen, Thomastik,
Corelli Savarez and others, chin rests, shoulder rests and rosins.
The studio offers services such as: Restoration, conservation and repair of
both instruments and bows, bow rehairing, sound set-up, appraisal for
insurance, information regarding the state of preservation (before selling or
buying an instrument) and possible trade in when buying an instrument. The
